A Little East of North

I lived in Port Moody for 9 years (2000 – 2009) and have been a volunteer for the Port Moody Heritage Society since 1999. In 1999 I had among other things been doing transcriptions of oral history interviews with seniors of the community. With my volunteer time in the Port Moody Station Museum the society ran I became inspired to write a ghost story… and then another and… I decided to collect them into a collection and I have given that collection the name “A Little East of North”.

Still a work in progress I have somewhere between a half dozen and a dozen stories written and more that are on the way. My goal is to intersperse the stories with historic facts about the City of Port Moody and hints for actually telling the stories to small groups of people, like at birthday parties or campfires.

The stories themselves are inspired or influenced by actual people, places, and events of Port Moody’s existence. I want the collection to be educational as well as entertaining.
